چکیده
The objective of this study to analyze the effect alkaline pretreatment on structure, composition, and subsequent hydrolysis agricultural wastes. An increase in content reducing sugars after is achieved. Its effectiveness confirmed, offering a practical procedure produce alternative energy. Factors such as calcium hydroxide concentration (0.1 0.5g Ca(OH)2/g-dry matter), liquid solid ratio (12 28ml/g-dry temperature (40 70°C), stirring rate (0 200rpm), an average particle size (0.45 1.015mm) were assessed using experimental design. On average, kikuyo grass had highest lignin removal (28.31%) while African oil palm fiber lowest value (14.10%). was statistically significant factor for fiber, important during grass. Ca(OH)2 major sugarcane bagasse coffee pulp waste.

BACKGROUND The inevitable depletion of fossil fuels has resulted in an increasing worldwide interest in exploring alternative and sustainable energy sources. Lignocellulose, which is the most abundant biomass on earth, is widely regarded as a promising raw material to produce fuel ethanol. Pretreatment is an essential step to disrupt the recalcitrance of lignocellulosic matrix for enzymatic sac...
متن کاملMixed Enzyme Systems for Delignification of Lignocellulosic Biomass
The application of enzymes such as laccase and xylanase for the preparation of cellulose from lignocellulosic material is an option for those industries seeking to reduce the use of chlorine-containing bleach agents, thus minimizing the environmental impact of their processes. Mixed hydrolytic and oxidative enzyme systems have been well described in the context of biopulping, and thus provide g...

The recent interest in bioconversion of agricultural and industrial wastes to chemical feedstock has led to extensive studies on cellulolytic enzymes produced by microorganisms. In the present study three lignocellulosic substrates viz. sugarcane bagasse, sawdust and water hyacinth were pre-treated with alkali and enzyme and their effect on bioconversion has been investigated. The ability of se...
