چکیده
Pemikiran Islam lahir menjawab kegelisahan atas realitas yang dihadapi oleh seorang intelektual. Ahmad an-Na’im adalah tokoh muncul dari umat dalam menerpkan konsep syari’ah dan negara. Artikel ini menggunakan analisis ekploratif, ide-ide tentang al-Qur’an akan menjadi focus kajian. Al-Qur’ān penuntun prilaku moralitas manusia, ia bukan narasi tekstual mengenai hukum. Ini paradigma al-Qur’an, sebagai reading for reality. Konsepsi memandang makki-madani menjadikan terma nask-mansukk penghapusan, melainkan penundaan sementara pemberlakuka ayat. Aspek ayat makkiyah bisa ditunda pelaksanaannya diganti dengan aspek-aspek madaniyah. Al-Qur’an bukanlah kitab karena kontradiski aytanya membuat manusia malas untuk berfikir.
