Agricultural Productivity in Europe: Hicks-Moorsteen Productivity Index Analysis

Purpose: The aim of the study was to measure and analyse productivity level agricultural activity in 25 European Union countries factors influencing this level. Approach/Methodology/Design: data covers years 2009-2019 obtained from EUROSTAT database. Aggregated Hicks-Moorsteen TFP total indices were used for measurement analysis. On basis average level, grouped into groups based on analysis their position index quartiles. Findings: agriculture is diversified terms productivity. its changes are determined, one hand, by effectiveness and, other technology. decomposition allows you find these determinants. Practical Implications: performed allowed grouping surveyed activity. made it possible determinants can be as criteria allocating funds implement reforms policies related agriculture. results also make identify sources increasing Originality/Value: presented research enriches knowledge Union.
