چکیده
New organic-inorganic polyurethane-based hybrids with enhanced mechanical properties and thermal insulation are reported. Polyurethane-based characterized by the intimate interactions of their inorganic organic co-networks prepared sol-gel approach, have exhibited exceeding those polyurethane foams, e.g. stability, durability insulating effectiveness. However, previously been poor. Here, new porous materials consisting a network modified in-situ formation aerogel-like polysiloxane domains, were developed. They exhibit multiscale-porosity which enhances insulation, properties. The synthesis was performed through novel stepwise process of: preparation siloxane precursor based on methyl-triethoxysilane tetraethoxysilane; functionalization traditional polyol for foams 3-(triethoxysilanepropyl)isocyanate as coupling agent; use suitable catalysts silicone surfactants; foaming methylene-di-isocyanate compound. precursors agent led to “aerogel-like” domains within walls struts foams. method enabled increased incorporation structures into compared literature, 20 wt% SiO2, reducing conductivity hybrid 30% pristine polyurethane, in addition significant improvement stability

Characterization of Thermal and Mechanical Properties of Lignosulfonate- and Hydrolyzed Lignosulfonate- based Polyurethane Foams
Lignosulfonate and lignosulfonate hydrolyzed under alkaline conditions were used as the polyol components in polyurethane foam formulations. Although the treatment increased hydroxyl group abundance, it did not improve the applicability of hydrolyzed lignosulfonate in polyurethane foam. Thus, the use of original lignosulfonate yielded foams of thermal stability and mechanical properties compara...

Polyurethane/zeolite 13X nanocomposite films were fabricated using solution casting method. The synthesized nanocomposite films were structurally characterized using SEM, TGA and tensile analysis. SEM images showed appropriate distribution of nanocrystalline zeolite particles within polyurethane matrix. Better thermal stability of nanocomposite films in comparison to neat polyurethane was shown...

متن کاملCompressive properties of commercially available polyurethane foams as mechanical models for osteoporotic human cancellous bone
BACKGROUND Polyurethane (PU) foam is widely used as a model for cancellous bone. The higher density foams are used as standard biomechanical test materials, but none of the low density PU foams are universally accepted as models for osteoporotic (OP) bone. The aim of this study was to determine whether low density PU foam might be suitable for mimicking human OP cancellous bone. METHODS Quasi...

Buildings consume too much energy. For example, 16.6% of all the energy used in the United States goes towards just the heating and cooling of buildings. Many governments, organizations, and companies are setting very ambitious goals to reduce their energy use over the next few years. Because the time periods for these goals are much less than the average lifetime of a building, existing buildi...
