چکیده
Oil palm biomass, which includes fronds of oil leaves, fiber and kernel shells, empty fruit bunches, liquid waste from palm, other mill wastes, can pose significant environmental hazards. Solid have the highest potential for composting. As a result, goal this study is to determine composting features aerobic-anaerobic systems in bunkers. The research was conducted at PT Eastern Sumatra Indonesia, Bukit Maraja POM, Simalungun Regency, with samples evaluated Medan's Socfindo Laboratory Bogor's Center Research Development Biotechnology Agricultural Genetic Resources. data acquired Farm Manager's PLC (Process Logic Control) system visually, as were results compost qualities bunker. Compost made bunches (EFB) via aerobic anaerobic processes has varied characteristics. major nutrients (N, P, K, Ca, Mg) pH are greater than those produced by Composting an may suppress generation Methane (CH4) gas until it undetected, however detect high level formation.

Feasibility of Anaerobic Co-composting Empty Fruit Bunch with Activated Sludge from Palm Oil Mill Wastes for Soil Conditioner
Utilisation of palm oil mill wastes to make soil conditioner through anaerobic co-composting is feasible and has the potential to maintain the natural resources, and to reduce the impact on environmental quality in the future. Co-composting process uses pressed-shredded-grinded empty fruit bunch (EFB) with activated sludge (AS) from the pond system of a palm oil mill as a suitable option for or...

Composting of Palm Oil Mill Sludge (POMS) with sawdust was conducted in natural aerated reactor. Composting using natural aerated reactor is cheap and simple. The goal of this study is to observe the potential of composting process and utilizing compost as media for growing Cymbopogun citratus, one of Malaysia herbal plant. The highest maximum temperature achieved is about 40 degrees C and to i...
متن کاملAnaerobic Treatment of Palm Oil Mill Effluent in Pilot-Scale Anaerobic EGSB Reactor
Large volumes of untreated palm oil mill effluent (POME) pose threat to aquatic environment due to the presence of very high organic content. The present investigation involved two pilot-scale anaerobic expanded granular sludge bed (EGSB) reactors, continuously operated for 1 year to treat POME. Setting HRT at 9.8 d, the anaerobic EGSB reactors reduced COD from 71179 mg/L to 12341 mg/L and recy...
متن کاملCo-composting of empty fruit bunches and partially treated palm oil mill effluents in pilot scale
The main objective of this study is to investigate the physicochemical changes of the cocomposting Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB) with partially treated palm oil mill effluent (POME) in pilot scale. The partially treated POME from anaerobic pond was sprayed onto the shredded EFB throughout the treatment. The composting materials were turned over one to three times per week for aeration. Temperature an...
