Adverse maternal and perinatal pregnancy outcomes related to very advanced maternal age in primigravida and multigravida in the Netherlands: A population?based cohort

Introduction The age at which women give birth is rising steadily in the western world. Advanced maternal has been associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. We assessed association between advanced and risk of perinatal outcome primigravid multigravid women. Material methods study was a population-based cohort included giving January 2000 December 2018 using data from Dutch registration Perined. Women were divided into groups. compared outcomes 40-44, 45-49, over 50 years old (the groups) 25-29 (reference group), stratified for parity. employed multivariable regression to correct possible confounders including conception, multiple pregnancies, ethnicity, socio-economic status. Our primary mortality. Secondary common complications, as well cesarean section rate. Results A 3 700 326 gave during period. Of these women, 3.2% above 40 age. Maternal mortality rare all groups, but significantly higher old. Perinatal pregnancies old, not primigravida most notable results steepest increase complications.
