Adverse drug reaction reporting by community pharmacists in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, 2016

Objectives: To assess adverse drug reactions (ADRs) reporting and identify factors to improve ADR among community pharmacists in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.Design: A quantitative cross-sectional study.Setting: Community pharmacies Ghana.Participants: We randomly selected 210 from a list Accra, Ghana. All participants had been practicing past one year, with this study being conducted June July 2016.Main outcome measure: Prevalence by Ghana.Results: Of interviewed 54.0% were males. Mean age was 32±10 years. Majority (96.0%) heard Ghana, yet 18% never seen form. Reasons given for failure report suspected ADRs included unavailability forms (83.1%), uncertainty about causal relationship between classification reaction as “normal” medication taken (23.6%). Only 34.0% available their facilities. Marital status only factor significantly associated (OR 3.18, 95%CI 1.02 – 9.12).Conclusion: Ghana remains low. proportion reporting, should be made all pharmacies, general public aware online systems, continuous professional development Pharmacovigilance advice that reported irrespective causality.
