چکیده
Abstract Adult vaccinations may reduce risk for dementia. We determined whether tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) vaccination is associated with lower Analysis conducted Veterans Health Affairs (VHA) administrative medical record data and replicated in private sector claims data. Patients were ≥65 years of age free dementia 2 prior to index date. Tdap 2011 or 2012. Follow-up through 2018. Controls had no the duration follow-up. After controlling confounding, patients with, compared without vaccination, a significantly both cohorts (VHA: HR=0.58; 95%CI:0.54 - 0.63 MarketScan: 95%CI:0.48 0.70). Results two different clinical sociodemographic characteristics. Several vaccine types are linked decreased risk, suggesting that these associations due nonspecific effects on inflammation rather than vaccine-induced pathogen-specific protective effects.

Quadracel: Vaccination Against Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, and Poliomyelitis in Children.
INTRODUCTION Vaccinations in school-aged children are required by state and local law to maintain high vaccination coverage rates, as well as low rates of vaccine-preventable diseases. Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis are childhood diseases that can be life threatening; poliomyelitis, another childhood disease, can be disabling. In turn, vaccinations were developed to provide protection again...

The temperatures of 587 children were taken before and after diphtheria/tetanus/pertussis (DTP) or diphtheria/tetanus (DT) vaccine. Only slight temperature increases were found but these were notably more frequent after plain than adsorbed DTP vaccine preparations and the frequency increased with each successive dose.
متن کاملTetanus–diphtheria–acellular pertussis vaccination for adults: an update
Although tetanus and diphtheria have become rare in developed countries, pertussis is still endemic in some developed countries. These are vaccine-preventable diseases and vaccination for adults is important to prevent the outbreak of disease. Strategies for tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis vaccines vary from country to country. Each country needs to monitor consistently epidemiology of the d...
متن کاملImpact of vaccination on epidemiology of diphtheria and pertussis
Whooping cough and diphtheria are vaccine preventable diseases. Diphtheria, due to Corynebacterium diphtheriae or Corynebactium ulcerans, two Gram positive bacteria, is a serious upper respiratory tract disease with high morbidity and mortality rates. Vaccination, via an acellular vaccine composed only of purified, detoxified diphtheria toxin, has significantly reduced the incidence of the dise...
متن کاملEffectiveness of adolescent and adult tetanus, reduced-dose diphtheria, and acellular pertussis vaccine against pertussis.
BACKGROUND Pertussis is among the most poorly controlled bacterial vaccine-preventable diseases in the United States. In 2006, a tetanus, reduced-dose diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap) booster was recommended for adolescents and adults. Tdap vaccines were licensed on the basis of antibody response without vaccine effectiveness data. METHODS From 30 September 2007 through 19 December ...
