Adsorption of Yttrium Ions on 3-Amino-5-Hydroxypyrazole Impregnated Bleaching Clay, a Novel Sorbent Material

In this work, spent bleaching clay (SBC) was treated with ethyl acetate and impregnation 3-amino-5-hydroxypyrazole (AHIBC) that utilized as economical sorbent material. The uptake of yttrium ions from aqueous solution using AHIBC studied under batch process a function pH the solution, contact time, adsorbent dosage, Yttrium concentration, ambient temperature. adsorption equilibrium achieved at value = 6.0 agitation time 60 min room utmost capacity Y(III) on 171.32 mg·g−1. Kinetic, isotherm, thermodynamic models were applied to experimental data obtained. Adsorption follows pseudo–second–order kinetic model, while isotherm fits Langmuir model. A negative Gibbs free energy ΔG° revealed Y spontaneously in nature. addition, electrostatic interaction between metal favorable. ΔH° states an exothermic process. Desorption efficiency reduced 97% 80% after eight consecutive rounds.
