Adsorption of Methylene Blue by Graft Copolymer Acrylamide onto Pineapple Peel Cellulose with the Addition of Activated Carbon Microwave-Assisted

Cationic dyes such as methylene blue are among the most widely used dye in textile and paper industry. The waste produced causes environmental pollution is harmful to human health. Thus, wastewater treatment becomes an important aspect of reducing this problem. Adsorption a very effective method for treating various wastewaters due its high selectivity capacity. This study aims prepare adsorbent from graft copolymer acrylamide onto cellulose with addition activated carbon microwave-assisted test performance blue. synthesis was carried out using technique. at times (3, 4, 5 minutes). Based on FTIR spectra characterization adsorbent, functional groups C=O N-H, SEM analysis shows that surface forms interconnected network. At 3, minutes irradiation, grafting ratios were 329.72, 128.00, 150.12, efficiency 99.74, 72.94, 78.02%. maximum adsorption capacity 14.00, 6.04, 9.97 mg/g, respectively, following Langmuir isotherm model pseudo second order kinetics. experimental results show can effectively remove or eliminate aqueous solution.
