Magnetic activated carbon (KAM) is used as an absorbent or adsorbent based on coconut shell which has been with sodium bicarbonate. The added to the iron composite produces KAM. content in ability absorb and facilitate separation process adsorbate. purpose of this study was determine adsorbate, namely pyrrole monomer compound. characterized using Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) instrument functional groups present. adsorption capacity iodine methylene blue, isotherm, kinetics were analysis. isotherm determined by varying concentration from range 30; 40; 50; 60 70 ppm. Determination time variation also carried out a 1; 1.5; 2; 2.5 3 hours. FTIR spectrum Fe-O absorption peak 556 cm-1, indicating presence magnetic that attached carbon. blue are 527 mg/g 699 mg/g, respectively. KAM first-order model resulted value R2=0.7736
