چکیده
This work deals with the evaluation of adhesive single-lap joints using ultrasound guided waves; in particular, it is intended to characterize signal propagation when defects are present joint by simulation and experimental approaches. The waves developed from matrix formulations. behavior wave modes that exist bonded region characterized. It found its amplitudes can be estimated properties incoming propagates non-bonded region. verified excitation these related degree which shapes both match each other. A 3D two aluminum-bonded plates 500 kHz ultrasonic transducers a pitch-and-catch configuration was implemented Matlab k-Wave toolbox. Scattering effects, due some located bond line joints, were simulated. setup artificial produced aluminum used order compare simulation. Qualitative agreement observed between deviation different characteristics simulated defects.

Evaluation of Fatigue Damage in Adhesive Bonding: Part 2: Single lap joint
Damage parameters for crack initiation in Single Lap Joint (SLJ) are determined by combining continuum damage mechanics, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and fatigue experimental data. Even tough SLJ has a simple configuration; the stresses in the adhesive region are quite complex and exhibit a multi-axial state. Such a condition leads to the need to introduce a general value of triaxiality functi...

void within the adhesive. Depending upon the number of notches and voids, the specimen is divided into several regions. Assuming that a plane strain state of deformation prevails in the specimen, we write the balance of forces and moments for each section and impose the continuity of displacements, forces and moments at the interfaces between the adjoining sections. By taking the Laplace transf...
متن کاملSemi Analytical Transient Dynamic Analysis of Composite Adhesive Single-lap Joints
A novel semi analytical method is developed for transient analysis of single-lap adhesive joints with laminated composite adherends subjected to dynamical loads. The presented approach has the capability of choosing arbitrary loadings and boundary conditions. In this model, adherends are assumed to be orthotropic plates that pursuant to the classical lamination theory. Stacking sequences can be...
