چکیده

Abstract Background Fetal MRI is a valuable supplementary study to the prenatal US in accurate diagnosis of fetal gastrointestinal anomalies and ventral abdominal wall anomalies, which has an impact on postnatal outcome. Aim work To establish additive role identification complex GIT anomalies. Methods This prospective involved 36 pregnant patients with age range from 19 41 years (mean ± SD 27.8 5.3 years). Thirty-six fetuses (19 males 17 females). All cases underwent dedicated 2D obstetric ultrasound assessment focus abdomen some required additional 3D 4D assessment. Twenty-seven procedures. Results In our study, was significantly more than confirmation delineation level small bowel obstruction differentiation complete luminal stenosis. anorectal malformations, were equally sensitive detection their associated findings. While superior case congenital chloride diarrhea. images added presence distended oropharynx esophageal atresia while other findings detected same accuracy both MRI. defects, fine details about true size defect, actual content defect as well large loops related complications. category cysts, owing its greater soft tissue characterization. sacrococcygeal teratoma (SCT), intra-pelvic extension upgrading tumor detecting intra-spinal component. diaphragmatic hernia, hernia capsule, herniated liver, complications estimation lung volume. Studying cloacal malformations showed that better characterization by anomaly abnormal genitourinary communication delineated The sensitivity detect concerning 100%, specificity 50% diagnostic 96.6%. 85.3%, 89%, 80.6%. combined 93.1%. Fetal diagnosis of spondylocostal dysplasia: Limits of conventional fetal ultrasound & MRI in diagnosing anomalies

We present a case of postnatally recognized spondylocostal dysplasia that was prenatally misdiagnosed as fetal thoracolumbar kyphoscoliosis secondary to spinal fusion anomalies. Neither two-dimensional ultrasound nor MRI identified the rib anomalies, nor did they allow for correct identification of the more compromised lung. Spondylocostal and spondylothoracic dysostoses involve rib deformities...
