چکیده
In this paper, we present and analyze a posteriori error estimates in the energy norm of quadratic finite element method for frictionless unilateral contact problem. The reliability efficiency estimator is discussed. suitable decomposition discrete space $${\mathbf{V^h_0}}$$ $${\mathbf{Q^h}}$$ , where counterpart force density defined, play crucial role deriving estimates. Numerical results are presented exhibiting proposed estimator.

An Optimal Adaptive Finite Element Method for the Stokes Problem
A new adaptive finite element method for solving the Stokes equations is developed, which is shown to converge with the best possible rate. The method consists of 3 nested loops. The outermost loop consists of an adaptive finite element method for solving the pressure from the (elliptic) Schur complement system that arises by eliminating the velocity. Each of the arising finite element problems...
متن کاملPENALTY METHOD FOR UNILATERAL CONTACT PROBLEM WITH COULOMB’S FRICTION FOR LOCKING MATERIAL
In this work, we study a unilateral contact problem with non local friction of Coulombbetween a locking material and a rigid foundation. In the first step , we present the mathematicalmodel for a static process, we establish the variational formulation in the form of a variationalinequality and we prove the existence and uniqueness of the solution. In the second step, usingthe penalty method we...
متن کاملA stable and optimally convergent LaTIn-Cut Finite Element Method for multiple unilateral contact problems
In this paper, we propose a novel unfitted finite element method for the simulation of multiple body contact. The computational mesh is generated independently of the geometry of the interacting solids, which can be arbitrarily complex. The key novelty of the approach is the combination of elements of the CutFEM technology, namely the enrichment of the solution field via the definition of overl...
متن کامل3d Adaptive Finite Element Method for a Phase Field Model for the Moving Contact Line Problems
In this paper, we propose an adaptive finite element method for simulating the moving contact line problems in three dimensions. The model that we used is the coupled Cahn-Hilliard Navier-Stokes equations with the generalized Navier boundary condition(GNBC) proposed in [1]. In our algorithm, to improve the efficiency of the simulation, we use the residual type adaptive finite element algorithm....
متن کاملAn Adaptive Finite Element Method
We develop an adaptive nite element algorithm for reactive ow simulations. The underlying equations are the Navier-Stokes equations for low-Mach-number ows and an additional system of convection-diiusion-reaction equations for the chemical species. Especially in combustion problems the reaction terms are very stii and nonlinear. This set of equations represents a complicated system of PDEs whic...
