Adaptive Not-direct-path Identification in UWB Localization

چکیده
Abstract In specific ultra-wideband (UWB) localization scenarios, conventional non-line-of-sight (NLOS) identification algorithm cannot detect other not-direct-path conditions. We proposed an adaptive method based on machine learning and artificial neural networks. Compared to the division of data sets, we verified advantages set partitioning by method. The performance NLOS recognition using different methods in scenes is also analyzed, average accuracy scenarios can reach 92% or more.

Identification of the Absence of Direct Path in ToA-Based Indoor Localization Systems
Ultra-wideband (UWB) indoor positioning systems based on time of arrival (ToA) techniques are considered to be the high precision alternatives to those employing received signal strength (RSS) or angle of arrival (AoA) due to their superior time-domain resolution. However, the performance of such systems may easily be degraded by the blockage of the direct path (DP) and occurrence of undetected...
متن کاملadaptive mobile localization in residual test method
determination of mobile localization with time of arrival (toa) signal is a requirement in cellular mobile communication. in some of the previous methods, localization with non-line-of-sight (nlos) paths can lead to large position error. also for simplicity, in most simulations suppose non stationary actual environments as stationary. this paper proposes (residual test + recursive least square)...
متن کاملUWB-Based Localization in Wireless Sensor Networks
Localization has many important applications in wireless sensor networks, such as object searching and tracking, remote navigation, location based routing etc. The distance measurements have been based on a variety of technologies, such as acoustic, infrared, and UWB (ultra-wide band) media for localization purposes. In this paper, we propose UWB-based communication protocols for distance estim...
متن کاملIdentification and Modeling of the Dynamic Behavior of the Direct Path Component in ToA-Based Indoor Localization Systems
A well-known challenge in estimating the distance of the antenna pair in time-of-arrival (ToA) based RF localization systems is the problem of obstruction of the direct path (DP) between transmitter and receiver. The absence of DP component in received channel profile creates undetected direct path (UDP) conditions. UDP condition, in turn, will cause occurrence of unexpected large ranging error...
متن کاملUWB-based Secure Ranging and Localization
In this paper, we propose and implement a novel IDbased secure ranging protocol. Our protocol is inspired by existing authenticated ranging and distance–bounding protocols, and is tailored to work on existing Ultra Wide Band (UWB) ranging platforms. Building on the implementation of secure ranging, we further implement a secure localization protocol that enables the computation of a correct dev...
