Adaptive Mediation in Colombia: Toward Institutional Capacity Building Amid Complexity and Uncertainty

This chapter shows the dynamic nature of mediation in Colombia during last three decades and through 12 peace processes that displayed a large number strategies. The achievement 2016 agreement with Revolutionary Armed Forces Colombia-People’s Army (FARC-EP) demonstrates how institutional capacity building results from resilient social institutions emerged after several attempts to achieve various armed groups. Therefore, case conflict resolution encourages mediators promote resilience other countries face challenging peacemaking initiatives. concludes flexibility adaptiveness Colombia’s experience offer evidence matured strategy has resulted notable achievements.
