Adaptive backstepping control of induction motor powered by photovoltaic generator

<span>This paper is aimed at addressing the design of an effective adaptive nonlinear control a photovoltaic (PV) water pumping system powering submersible induction motor and centrifugal pump. Four objectives are achieved using Backstepping controller. First, it applied to ensure maximum power point tracking, uses latter as reference in regulation rotor speed convert electrical into mechanical power. Second, controller synthesized flux restrict magnetic circuit its linear interval. Third, used online estimate time-constant load torque disturbance estimation. Finally, this employed limit stator currents protect windings. Mathematical modelling main elements presented. A sliding mode estimator output feedback whole system. DC-AC converter controlled by pulse width modulation. The feasibility, robustness effectiveness proposed evaluated through simulations MATLAB/Simulink environment.</span>
