Acute Renal Failure in Newborns with Birth Asphyxia

چکیده
Introduction: Perinatal asphyxia is one of the common causes neonatal morbidity and mortality. It can affect almost all body organs most frequently affected are kidneys. Acute Renal Failure commonest renal complication, manifested by changes in urine output blood chemistries.
Aims: To evaluate function asphyxiated newborns.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted, from August 2021 to February 2022, on 95 term neonates admitted Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nepalgunj Medical College, Kohalpur for birth as per World Health Organization definition. All with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy were staged Sarnat staging. After 48 hours life, sample sent investigations. Urine monitored managed according hospital protocol.
Results: Male female ratio M:F 1.90:1. Percentage acute failure higher babies grades. seen 12% Grade I, 82% II 100% III. had significant association staging(p<0.05).The means serum creatinine significantly increased increase grades (p<0.05). Mean among III newborns 0.9±0.44, 2.2±.93and 2.9±0.38 mg/dl respectively. urinary decreased (p<0.05) mean 1.5±0.38, 1.3±0.53and 1.1±0.39 ml/kg/hour respectively III.
 Conclusion: Neonates values creatinine. grading

Prediction of acute renal failure after birth asphyxia.
Twenty-one babies of 34-41 weeks' gestational age with birth asphyxia (5 minute Apgar score less than or equal to 5 or umbilical artery pH less than or equal to 7.2) were studied during the first two days of life to find out whether the urinary excretion of tubular markers of renal function is of value in the early diagnosis of acute renal failure. Urinary retinol binding protein, myoglobin, an...
متن کاملPlasma Ammonia Levels in Newborns with Asphyxia.
OBJECTIVE Perinatal asphyxia may result in hypoxic damage in various body organs, especially in the central nervous system. It could induce cascade of biochemical events leading to the cell death and metabolic changes, eventually may increase plasma ammonia levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of hyperammonemia in neonates with asphyxia and to find the relationship ...

Brake fluid is a mixture of different Glycol derivatives which are poisoning and their ingestion triggers significant CNS symptoms, severe metabolic acidosis, cardiac, pulmonary, and renal failure. Here in this study, a case is reported who had been ingested 150mL of brake fluid for suicidal attempt.
