Acute imagery resistance exercise improves subsequent muscle power performance in teenage futsal athletes

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Futsal is one of the most popular sport in Brazil with millions players worldwide. It characterized by intermittent stimuli high intensity anaerobic actions. Recently, studies have shown that imagery resistance training (IRT), like conventional strength training, can increase muscle strength, making it reasonable to think this effect also be transferred power. Purposes: we aimed verify acute responses IRT on power teenage players. Methods: fifteen athletes were enrolled and underwent three visits laboratory: 1) familiarization exercise they would undergo; 2) them for vertical jump test after session other control session, without any intervention before test. Sessions 2 3 being applied random order. Results: results indicate improved performance, since produced higher output [3134.5 Watts (2744 - 3796.3)] than [2952.4 (2637.55 3433.45)] (Z=3.4078; p=0.0007). In addition, all participants group showed some improvement session. Conclusions: a single athletes.

The Response of Skeletal Muscle-Expressed Neurotrophins to Acute Resistance Exercise in Male Wistar Rats

Background. BDNF and NT-4/5 have been proposed to be involved in the coordinated adaptations of the neuromuscular system to the elevated level of activity, but an activity-dependent expression of neurotrophins in skeletal muscle is not well established. Objectives. We, therefore, investigated the effect of one session of resistance exercise on mRNA expression of some neurotrophins in Slow and ...

Acute antioxidant supplementation improves endurance performance in trained athletes.

This study examined the acute effects of a single dose of an antioxidant (AO; Lactaway® containing pycnogenol) on time to fatigue (TTF). Nine trained cyclists [mean ± SD age 35 ± 10 yrs; body mass 71.6 ± 10.2 kg; VO2 peak 63 ± 11 ml/kg/min] performed on two separate occasions a continuous protocol of 5 min at 50% of peak power output (PPO), 8 min at 70% of PPO, and then cycled to fatigue at 95%...

Acute resistance exercise‐induced IGF1 expression and subsequent GLUT4 translocation

Acute aerobic exercise (AE) is a major physiological stimulus for skeletal muscle glucose uptake through activation of 5' AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). However, the regulation of glucose uptake by acute resistance exercise (RE) remains unclear. To investigate the intracellular regulation of glucose uptake after acute RE versus acute AE, male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three gr...

Resistance exercise induced mTORC1 signaling is not impaired by subsequent endurance exercise in human skeletal muscle.

The current dogma is that the muscle adaptation to resistance exercise is blunted when combined with endurance exercise. The suggested mechanism (based on rodent experiments) is that activation of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) during endurance exercise impairs muscle growth through inhibition of the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). The purpose of thi...

Acute coordinative exercise improves attentional performance in adolescents.

Teachers complain about growing concentration deficits and reduced attention in adolescents. Exercise has been shown to positively affect cognitive performance. Due to the neuronal connection between the cerebellum and the frontal cortex, we hypothesized that cognitive performance might be influenced by bilateral coordinative exercise (CE) and that its effect on cognition might be already visib...
