Active Filter Reference Calculations Based on Customers’ Current Harmonic Emissions

This paper deals with harmonics compensation in industrial and distribution networks using an active filter (AcF). When defining the AcF’s reference current, it is important to properly consider network background harmonic distortion. Within this paper, we propose AcF current calculation method, based on customers’ emissions. The main novelty of method that considers only customer’s contributions distortion at point common coupling (PCC). By separating PCC into components can be attributed customer network, possible limit required power. To determine emission, impedance must known. As actual cannot determined a real environment, used instead. test proposed developed control algorithm PSCAD software tested medium-voltage benchmark simulation model.
