چکیده
Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is a significant cause of acute and remains major concern in drug discovery clinical use. Optical imaging, including fluorescence imaging photoacoustic has been widely used for the early accurate diagnosis DILI. Activatable optical probes can detect lesion-specific molecular alterations with high sensitivity signal-to-noise ratio, offering precise way to evaluate This review summarizes recent progress development activatable equipped or photoacousitc capabilities DILI living organisms. The designs applications these are categorized discussed according injured liver, reactive nitrogen species (RNS), oxygen (ROS), sulfur (RSS), enzymes. present challenges perspectives further advance them into also presented.

Activatable Smart Probes for Molecular Optical Imaging and Therapy
Recent years have seen the design and implementation of many optical activatable smart probes. These probes are activatable because they change their optical properties and are smart because they can identify specific targets. This broad class of detection agents has allowed previously unperformed visualizations, facilitating the study of diverse biomolecules including enzymes, nucleic acids, i...
متن کاملActivatable fluorescent probes: a new concept in optical molecular imaging.
Activatable fluorescent probes share the unique feature of being turned on only under specific conditions: they are "silent" when not interacting with a specific target protein, microenvironment, or reactive species. Several activatable fluorescence probes have demonstrated their potential in cell biology study, disease study and diagnosis, and even in the rapidly expanding field of image-guide...
متن کاملDNA Aptamer-Based Activatable Probes for Photoacoustic Imaging in Living Mice
DNA aptamers are a powerful class of molecules for sensing targets, but have been limited when applied to imaging in living animals because most aptamer probes are fluorescence-based, which limits imaging penetration depth. Photoacoustic (PA) imaging emerged as an alternative to MRI and X-ray tomography in biomedical imaging, due to its ability to afford high-resolution images at depths in the ...
متن کاملDesign, synthesis, and imaging of an activatable photoacoustic probe.
Photoacoustic tomography is a rapidly growing imaging modality that can provide images of high spatial resolution and high contrast at depths up to 5 cm. We report here the design, synthesis, and evaluation of an activatable probe that shows great promise for enabling detection of the cleaved probe in the presence of high levels of nonactivated, uncleaved probe, a difficult task to attain in ab...
متن کاملSensitive and selective tumor imaging with novel and highly activatable fluorescence probes.
Selective and sensitive tumor imaging in vivo is one of the most requested methodologies in medical sciences. Although several imaging modalities have been developed including positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance (MR) imaging for the detection of tumors, none of these modalities can activate the signals upon being accumulated or uptaken to tumor sites. Among these modalitie...
