Acoustic signature identification of damage and wear mechanisms in a steel/glass sliding contact

چکیده
The tribological behavior of a steel/glass ball-on-flat contact was studied by synchronizing the friction measurements with an acoustic emission device and vision system. results highlight two distinct regimes identified low high values. Their transition is characterized modification signals. In addition, main damage wear mechanisms are identified: creation propagation Hertzian cracks visible on glass surface constitution interfacial layer debris. different accommodation mechanisms, activated successively or simultaneously, for frequencies between 300 700 kHz. Eventually, this approach allows real-time identification gives better insights about signals in relation to systems.
