Accurate Direction–of–Arrival Estimation Method Based on Space–Time Modulated Metasurface

چکیده
A metasurface (MTS)-based direction of arrival (DoA) estimation method is presented. The exploits the properties space–time modulated reflective metasurfaces to estimate in real-time impinging angle an illuminating monochromatic plane wave. approach makes use amplitude unbalance received fields at broadside frequencies two first-order harmonics generated by interaction between incident wave and metasurface. Here, we first describe analytically how generate desired higher order reflected spectrum realize breaking spatial symmetry each harmonic scattering pattern. Then, 1-D omnidirectional can be computed using +1st- ?1st-order harmonics. also extended 2-D DoA orthogonally arranged modulation arrays. accuracy verified through full-wave numerical simulations. Compared conventional methods, proposed simplifies computation hardware complexity, ensuring same time accuracy. may have potential applications wireless communications, target recognition, identification.
