Accessibility of Geoheritage Sites—A Methodological Proposal

Accessibility is an important property of geoheritage sites (geosites), which commonly considered in their assessment. A new method, refers partly to previous developments, proposed assess this semiquantitatively. Inner (on-site) and outer accessibility are distinguished, each measured depending on the opportunities reach unique geological features. Distant visibility entrance fees/required permissions also taken into account. On basis scores, three grades geosite (excellent, moderate, low) delineated. The method applied 15 geosites Mountainous Adygeya (southwestern Russia), outcomes prove its efficacy. This application helps establish within-site territorial spatial heterogeneity propose some managerial implications.
