Accelerating Earth-bound dark matter

A fraction of the dark matter may consist a particle species that interacts much more strongly with Standard Model than typical weakly interacting massive (WIMP) similar mass. Such component could have avoided detection in searches for WIMP-like through its interactions material atmosphere and Earth slow it down significantly before reaching detectors underground. These same can also enhance density near Earth's surface to well above local galactic density. In this work, we propose two new methods detecting based on accelerating enhanced population expected scattering. The first approach is use underground nuclear accelerator beams upscatter ambient into WIMP-style detector located downstream. second technique, upscattered an intense thermal source detected low-threshold detector. We discuss potential candidates matter, show scenario be naturally realized hidden fermion coupled sub-GeV photon.
