چکیده

To identify effects of transarterial radioembolization (TARE) with Yttrium-90 resin microspheres on histopathological analysis. All patients who underwent TARE to any liver tumor followed by a resection were included in this retrospective, IRB-approved study (n = 26). was performed using 3-day pre-calibration 90Y SPECT/CT or PET/CT. Pathologic analysis board certified pathologist 34 years experience. Degree response recorded as percentage nonviable tumor, (either due necrosis fibrosis) and number beads counted 5X zoom normal liver. Three separate regions the assessed, average being reported. Extensive defined ≥90% nonviable. Continuous variables are reported median interquartile range categorical numbers percentage. One patient without pathologic excluded (final cohort 25). Median age 68 (60-70, 64% male), 14 (56%) having intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, 10 (40%) hepatocellular carcinoma, 1 (4%) metastatic colorectal carcinoma. MIRD dosimetry target dose 150 (120-200) Gy used 19 (76%) patients, partition 200 one patient, BSA 5 (20%). A activity 1.7 (1.1-2.1) GBq delivered. Resection occurred 110 (74-162) days after TARE. revealed rate 90 (60-95) %, 100% 4 (16%), 90-99% 9 (36%), 50-89% (40%), < 50% 2 (8%) patients. Patients prescribed ≥180 had 67% extensive response, compared 38% 180 (P 0.18). On 5× zoom, tumoral region received 87 (53-115) 20 (10-30) 0.01). receiving >90 necrosis, those beads. Achieving stasis associated higher degree fibrosis (49%) antegrade flow (5%, P 0.01), whereas (45%) (30%, 0.04). yttrium-90 is majority while suggesting that leads particles thus leading response.

Radioembolization with yttrium-90 resin microspheres for neuroendocrine tumor liver metastases.

PURPOSE We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of radioembolization with yttrium-90 (90Y) microspheres in cases with unresectable neuroendocrine tumor liver metastases (NETLMs). METHODS Thirty patients (mean age, 55 years) underwent resin-based 90Y radioembolization for unresectable NETLM at a single institution between April 2008 and June 2013. Post-treatment tumor response was as...

Internal dosimetry for radioembolization therapy with Yttrium‐90 microspheres

The absorbed doses in the liver and adjacent viscera in Yttrium-90 radioembolization therapy for metastatic liver lesions are not well-documented. We sought for a clinically practical way to determine the dosimetry of this advent treatment. Six different female XCAT BMIs and seven different male XCAT BMIs were generated. Using Monte Carlo GATE code simulation, the total of 100MBq 90 Y was depos...

Radioembolization of liver tumors with yttrium-90 microspheres.

Radioembolization (RE), also termed selective internal radiation therapy (SIRT), has been gradually introduced to the clinical arsenal of cytoreductive modalities in recent years. There is growing evidence for efficiency in liver tumors of various entities, with the most prominent ones being hepatocellular carcinoma, colorectal cancer, and neuroendocrine tumors. Hepatic metastases of numerous o...

Survival analysis of transarterial radioembolization with yttrium-90 for hepatocellular carcinoma patients with HBV infection.

INTRODUCTION For patients with resectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), hepatectomy remains one of the best treatment options to provide long-term survival. However, more than 50% of the patients have unresectable disease upon diagnosis even though there are no distant metastases. Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) is a well-established treatment option that offers a palliative survival b...

Radioembolization with use of yttrium-90 resin microspheres in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and portal vein thrombosis.

PURPOSE Intraarterial delivery of yttrium-90 ((90)Y)-bound microspheres (ie, radioembolization) is a promising treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). An early concern was the "embolic" nature of the microspheres, and their potential to reduce hepatic arterial blood flow in patients with compromised portal blood flow secondary to portal vein thrombosis/occlusion (PVT). In this situation, ...
