چکیده

An absolute distance measurement sensor based on self-mixing interferometry (SMI) is suitable for application in aerospace due to its small size and light weight. However, an SMI signal with a high sampling rate places burden devices other onboard sources. using compressed sensing (CS) proposed this work relieve burden. The was sampled via matrix at lower than Nyquist’s law then recovered by the greedy pursuit algorithm. recovery algorithm improved increase robustness iteration speed. On measuring system error of 60 µm, difference between raw data 1800 points CS 300 within 0.15 demonstrating feasibility CS.

New absolute distance measurement technique with a self-mixing interferometer

A new compact self-aligned noncontact range finder is described. It uses the selfmixing effect inside a laser diode. Double modulation technique is proposed to improve the measurement accuracy. Wavelength modulation (WM) of the laser beam is obtained by modulating the injection current of the laser diode. Phase modulation (PM) of the laser beam is obtained by an electro-optic crystal (EOC) in t...

High-precision Absolute Distance Measurement using Frequency Scanned Interferometry

In this letter, we report high-precision absolute differential distance measurements performed with frequency scanned interferometry (FSI). Absolute differential distance was determined by counting the interference fringes produced while scanning the laser frequency. A high-finesse Fabry-Perot interferometer was used to determine frequency changes during scanning. Two new multi-distance-measure...

Improving the measurement performance for a self-mixing interferometry-based displacement sensing system.

Approaches that are, to our knowledge, novel, are proposed in this paper to improve the accuracy performance of self-mixing interferometry (SMI) for displacement measurement. First, the characteristics associated with signals observed in SMI systems are studied, based on which a new procedure is proposed for achieving accurate estimation of the laser phase. The studies also revealed the reasons...

Absolute distance measurement by dispersive interferometry using a femtosecond pulse laser.

We describe an interferometric method that enables to measure the optical path delay between two consecutive femtosecond laser pulses by way of dispersive interferometry. This method allows a femtosecond laser to be utilized as a source of performing absolute distance measurements to unprecedented precision over extensive ranges. Our test result demonstrates a non-ambiguity range of ~1.46 mm wi...

High-precision absolute distance measurement using dual-laser frequency scanned interferometry under realistic conditions

In this paper, we report on new high-precision absolute distance measurements performed with frequency scanned interferometry using a pair of single-mode optical fibers. Absolute distances were determined by counting the interference fringes produced while scanning the frequencies of the two chopped lasers. High-finesse Fabry–Perot interferometers were used to determine frequency changes during...
