Abortion and the Law in California

Though California is recognized for protecting women’s right to choose today, this was not always the case. Abortion illegal in California, as it all other states late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries; over time, however, witnessed a series of legal amendments cases that pressed on its nineteenth-century statute—culminating decriminalization abortion years before Roe v. Wade. This article begins with history legislation, then analyzes recent laws passed elsewhere United States, showing how these new simply repeat previously discarded California. overview should prove helpful citizens legislators who wish their follow suit protect choice.
