متن کاملVolitional type of facial palsy associated with pontine ischaemia.
A dissociation between voluntary and emotional facial innervation is described in a patient with a pure motor stroke due to a unilateral ischaemic pontine infarction. Voluntary facial innervation of the contralateral orbicularis oris muscle was affected whereas emotionally induced innervation of the same muscle was spared. متن کاملPostural Reflexes Coordinating Walking Legs in a Rock Lobster
It is well established that a proprioceptive organ in the walking legs of decapod Crustacea is able to influence not only the muscle of the joint where it is situated but also most of the other muscles of the same leg. Resistance reflexes elicited by several chordotonal organs have been described (Bush, 1962, 1965), and it has been demonstrated that one of them (the CB chordotonal organ) evokes...
متن کاملAbnormal cardiovascular reflexes in patients with gastro-oesophageal reflux.
Using five non-invasive tests, abnormalities of cardiovascular reflex function were found in 20 of 50 patients with gastro-oesophageal reflux. Abnormalities of pupil cycle time, an index of non-vagal parasympathetic function, were found in only a few patients, implying that the cardiovascular abnormalities observed were not part of a generalised parasympathetic defect. The findings are consiste...

We propose a potential association between blepharospasm and pontine capillary telangiectasia.
