چکیده
Background: The minor salivary gland biopsy (MSGB) is considered the “ gold standard ” for diagnosis of primary Sjögren’s syndrome (pSS). histological hallmark focal lymphocytic infiltration with presence 50 or more lymphocytes per 4 mm 2 (focus score ≥ 1). Several studies have documented association between focus (FS) and extraglandular involvement, suggesting that FS could be used as a index disease severity prognostic tool. Objectives: To investigate clinical, haematological serological findings in cohort patients pSS. Methods: We performed retrospective analysis pSS who fulfilled ACR/EULAR 2016 classification criteria were submitted to (MSGB). Objective(s): To review the findings of the patients with Sjögren’s syndrome (SS) having technetium-99m-pertechnetate (99mTc-pertechnetate) and gallium-67 citrate (Ga-67) salivary gland scintigraphy in the past eight years. Methods: The patients with SS, who were referred to our department for salivary gland scintigraphy during January 2008-December 2015 were studied using both 99mTc-pertechneta...
متن کاملMinor salivary gland evaluation: Sjögren's syndrome.
BACKGROUND/AIM We aimed to analyze the value of 3 serial sections, spaced 200 µm apart, for quantification of lymphocyte and plasma cell foci in minor salivary gland biopsy (MSGB). MATERIALS AND METHODS Labial MSGBs from 69 patients with Sjögren's syndrome (SS) and scleroderma were used for this study. Each sample was prepared as 3 serial sections spaced 200 µm apart. Lymphocytic and plasma...

OBJECTIVES To evaluate the interferon (IFN) biomarkers sialic acid binding Ig like lectin 1 (SIGLEC1, CD169) and IFN-γ-inducible protein-10 (IP-10) in patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS). METHODS 31 patients fulfilling the American-European criteria for pSS were included. Disease activity was obtained by EULAR Sjögren's syndrome disease activity index (ESSDAI). SIGLEC1 expression o...
متن کاملThe Significance of Ectopic Germinal Centers in the Minor Salivary Gland of Patients with Sjögren’s Syndrome
We investigated the clinical and biological significance of germinal centers (GC) present in the minor salivary glands of patients with Sjögren's syndrome (SS). Minor salivary gland tissue biopsies from 93 patients with SS were used to identify GC-like structures, which were confirmed by CD21-positive follicular dendritic cell networks. Patients were compared based upon sociodemographics, gland...

Objective. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic performance of minor salivary gland biopsy (MSGB) for patients with primary Sjogren’s syndrome (pSS). Methods. We have conducted a search from Medline, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases, and performed a meta-analysis on the diagnostic accuracy of MSGB in pSS patients. Results. A total of eight studies, including 583 pSS and...
