Background: Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is the most common chronic inflammatory disease usually involves peripheral joints with a symmetric distribution. The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) seldom to be affected first in course. Objectives: Aim of our study describe and assess prevalence (TMJ)disorders patients arthritis (RA). Methods: A cross sectional including RA patients, which consulted or were hospitalized Rheumatology department Taher Sfar Hospital Mahdia Tunisia, during period 10 months. diagnosis was secured by ACR/EULAR 2010, Classification Criteria. clinical TMJ examination performed trained dentist same hospital. We assessed pain VAS (visual analog scale) varies from 0 10. following key parameters evaluated: on TMJs bilateral palpation; sounds (clicking crepitus) opening closing mandible; dysfunction movement alterations. Clinical sociodemographic also determined. Results: Our included 51 an average age 51.11 years ±12.4 [21-74years]. 50patients (92.6%of cases) women 8 (14.8%) diabetic. BACKGROUND Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMD) are not uncommon in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). However, the extent of involvement and its clinical relevance have not been well characterized. This study evaluated the correlation between the severity of RA-related TMD and RA, as well as determined the potential predictors for early identification and management of TMD in RA patie...
