A Versatile Setup for Fourier-Transform Infrared Magneto-Spectroscopy

Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) magneto-spectroscopy is a powerful spectroscopic technique used to investigate many important effects in materials, e.g., electron spin resonance, cyclotron and transitions between Landau levels. Despite their enormous potential material science, magneto-spectrometers are still relatively rare custom-made since such systems generally require complex infrastructure. This article presents versatile broadband setup for FTIR spanning the range from THz/far-infrared (FIR) near-infrared (NIR), high magnetic field up 16T, cryogenic temperatures down 2 K. It consists of commercial spectrometer 16 T cryogen-free superconducting magnet coupled with custom-designed optical coupling transmission probes experiments various detectors. The functionality magneto-spectroscopic demonstrated by magneto-optical measurements on cobalt-based single-molecule FIR region germanium NIR region.
