چکیده
A field water balance model for efficient irrigation management of corn was developed using Excel VBA. The consists five sub-components or modules, namely, (1) a plant subcomponent, (2) an effective rainfall (3) evapotranspiration (4) soil dynamics subcomponent the modeling flow into and within layers, (5) estimation required amount timing irrigation. calibrated validated observed data from experiments results showed reasonably good agreement between simulated moisture values (MAE = 5.76 mm to 12.00 mm, RMSE 6.83 13.12 NRMSE 0.102 0.196, NSE 0.37 0.90). simulations emphasized that significant savings can be achieved when is properly accounted in managing field, frequency occurrences as important magnitude received by crops. wide-ranging user-friendliness simplicity this study pave way eliminating barriers which cause farmers resist advancements their farming practices easily used not only researchers scientists but also farmers, especially those with basic knowledge spreadsheets.

Ozone Sensitivity in Sweet Corn (Zea mays L.) Plants: A Possible Relationship to Water Balance.
Stomatal characteristics affecting gas exchange were compared in two sweet corn hybrids (var. Bonanza and Monarch Advance) which differ in foliar ozone sensitivity. No significant differences were observed in stomatal frequencies, guard cell lengths, or conductances to water vapor diffusion. When plant water status was compared, leaf-water potentials for the ozone-resistant cultivar, Bonanza, we...
متن کاملEffect of using mulches at different levels of irrigation water salinity on some characteristics of forage corn (Zea mays L.)
Nowadays, mulch types are used to improve environmental conditions for plant growth in terms of irrigation water and soil quality. Production and cultivation of forage plants in arable lands, especially in arid and semi-arid regions, is very important, because it reduces grazing pressure on rangelands. In order to evaluate the effect of mulch types on some plant characteristics of forage maize ...
متن کاملNitrate Reductase Activity and Polyribosomal Content of Corn (Zea mays L.) Having Low Leaf Water Potentials.
Desiccation of 8- to 13-day-old seedlings, achieved by withholding nutrient solution from the vermiculite root medium, caused a reduction in nitrate reductase activity of the leaf tissue. Activity declined when leaf water potentials decreased below -2 bars and was 25% of the control at a leaf water potential of -13 bars. Experiments were conducted to determine whether the decrease in nitrate re...
متن کاملHealth Benefits of Purple Corn (Zea mays L.) Phenolic Compounds
Purple corn (Zea mays L.), a grain with one of the deepest shades in the plant kingdom, has caught the attention of the food industry as it could serve as a source for alternatives to synthetic colorants. Also being rich in phenolic compounds with potential health-promoting properties, purple corn is becoming a rising star in the novel ingredients market. Although having been widely advertised ...
متن کاملPhenolic profiles of Andean purple corn (Zea mays L.)
Qualitative and quantitative high performance liquid chromatography with diode array detection (HPLC-DAD) was performed to characterize the presence of phenolic compounds in Andean purple corn. Phenolic compounds were analyzed by separating them in two main fractions: a water fraction (WF) and an ethyl acetate fraction (EAF). The WF rich in anthocyanins revealed the presence of cyanidin-3-gluco...
