چکیده

This study presents a two-step FE model updating approach for health monitoring and damage identification of prestressed concrete girder bridges. To reduce the effects modeling error in process, first step, modal-based is used to estimate linear parameters mainly related stiffness boundary conditions material properties. In second time-domain carried out using acceleration data refine accounting nonlinear response behavior bridge. this are fixed at their final estimates updating. prevent convergence algorithm local solutions, initial properties selected based on first-step results. validate applicability approach, series forced-vibration experiments designed pair full-scale decommissioned deteriorated bridge I-girders. conditions, including supports coupling beams, as well properties, material, estimated. compressive strength damping updated. The infer extent girders. obtained results agree with literature regarding reduction structures.

A NEW APPROACH BASED ON FINITE ELEMENT MODEL UPDATING FOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE IDENTIFICATION

In this study, the finite element model updating was simulated by reducing the stiffness of the members. Due to lack of access to the experimental results, the data obtained from an analytical model were used in the proposed structural damage scenarios. The updating parameters for the studied structures were defined as a reduction coefficient applied to the stiffness of the members. Parameter v...

Effects of Temperature Variations on Precast, Prestressed Concrete Bridge Girders

The monitoring of a precast, prestressed girder bridge during fabrication and service provided the opportunity to observe temperature variations and to evaluate the accuracy of calculated strains and cambers. The use of high curing temperatures during fabrication affects the level of prestress because the strand length is fixed during the heating, the coefficients of thermal expansion of steel ...

A two-step method for damage identification and quantification in large trusses via wavelet transform and optimization algorithm

In the present study, a two-step approach for damage prognosis in long trusses is suggested in which the first step deals with locating probable damages by wavelet transform (WT) and static deflection derived from modal data with the intention of declining the subsequent inverse problem variables. Then, in the second step, optimization based model updating method using Artificial Bee Colony (AB...
