چکیده

The study investigated the in-vivo oral acute toxicity and in-vitro cytotoxicity (Neutral red assay (NRU) by Aqueous Ethanol extract of Asparagus racemosus Linn seed. In this study, water was found to be more toxic zebrafish. medium lethal concentration (LD50) values ethanol were 1070.8 mg/L 1822.4 respectively for 96 hours exposure. correlation coefficient 0.972 0.9829 linear regression curves between death percentage. also 50% 100 % mortality observed with 968mg/L 2129.6 extract, whereas only 28.57% 57.14% in same range. lower concentrations, such as 90.90 mg/L, 200mg/L 440 having no mortality, considered safe vitro (NRU assay) on SH-SY5Y cell line, trend where line. results indicate that 43% caused Ethanolic at 500 μg/ml concentration. Hence, IC50 value 562.1 μg/ml, approximately 52% inhibition recorded μg/mL aqueous extract. 114.7 Both studies showed less toxic, hence effective compared

Antioxidant and hepatoprotective action of Asparagus racemosus Willd. root extracts.

The antioxidant activities of the crude hydro-alcoholic extract (CE) and its four fractions viz. methanol (MF), ethyl acetate (EF), n-Butanol (BF), and precipitated aqueous (PAF) of A.racemosus roots tested decreased in the order of EF > MF > CE > BF > PAF when investigated by DPPH free radical scavenging assay. Under iron induced lipid peroxidation almost similar results were observed except t...

Micropropagation of Asparagus racemosus (Shatavari)

Asparagus racemosus (Shatavari) is a plant with immense medicinal values. It is reported to be recalcitrant to tissue culture practices. Sterile cultures were obtained when the explants were treated with (0.5%) Bavestine, Indophyl and 8HQC for 7 min and HgCl2 for 5 min.The present study on micropropagation of Asparagus racemosus through nodal explants showed better result in BAP (2 mg/l) along ...

Asparagus racemosus Linn. Potentiates the Hypolipidemic and Hepatoprotective Activity of Fenofibrate in Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Rats

Diabetes mellitus is strongly connected with changes in lipid profile and also can cause damage of several organs like liver over a long period of time. The purpose of this study was designed to evaluate the hypolipidemic and hepatoprotective effects of ethanolic root extracts of Asparagus racemosus (EEAR) Linn. alone and in combination with a lipid lowering agent (fenofibrate) in alloxan-induc...
