A techno-economic survey on high- to low-temperature waste heat recovery cycles for UK glass sector

چکیده
Three heat recovery cycles are studied to recover the waste from exhaust gas outlet of a glass-melting furnace. To determine viability and potential dangers based on techno-economic aspects, three fundamental for UK glass melting furnaces examined. The parametric thermodynamic study reveals effects key parameters: condenser temperature ORC cycle, pressure ratio sCO2 flash Kalina cycle. parameters (Power production, energy, exergy efficiency), as well five (LCOE, NPV, PP, IRR, MOIC), have been with varying factors. results showed that is best possible option low-temperature gases it not expensive other ones, while super-critical CO2 has highest power production produce high-temperature sources. Even though ORC’s payback period 10% longer than sCO2‘s, Comparing MOIC cycle those differences just 8.3%, 5.3%, 8.2% lower.

متن کاملMethods of Increasing Net Work Output of Organic Rankine Cycles for Low-Grade Waste Heat Recovery
In heat engine design, the usual objective is to maximize thermal efficiency. However, for heat engines applied to waste heat recovery, an appropriate objective is to maximize power production by converting as much of the waste heat as possible into work. An organic Rankine cycle (ORC) is particularly well-suited to waste heat recovery because of its compactness relative to a steam Rankine cycl...
متن کاملTechno-Economic Assessment of Heat Recovery in Series Condensers Arrangement: Hot and Humid Regions
A direct expansion (DX) HVAC system is an efficient way to supply fresh and dehumidified air to a built environment. To improve the efficiency of a conventional DX system in hot and humid regions, fresh air dehumidification and conditioning systems with energy recovery measures are the key equipment to reach such a goal. To achieve this goal an integrated system is proposed. The integrated syst...
