A Systematic Review on Virtual Reality Technology for Ancient Ceramic Restoration

The protection of intangible cultural heritage has received much attention, among which the “ancient ceramic restoration technique” was included in National List Intangible Cultural Heritage China (the fourth batch) 2014. In preserving and restoring ancient ceramics, virtual reality (VR) technology been widely applied, as it provides a new way to showcase appearance structure ceramics VR environment. This paper systematic review application conservation ceramics. methodology comprises four steps: research problem formulation, literature search, study selection data extraction. A total 30 articles out 1479 peer-reviewed database from six databases (Web Science, SpringerLink, IEEE Xplore, Scopus, CNKI, Google Scholar) were extracted screened, covers or VR-based devices conservation. It found that existing on is hardly user-oriented. Thus, we develop Platform utilized with Unity 3DS Max, ensuring authenticity, minimal intervention, promising reversible repair within findings show applied contributed learning efficiency willingness users.
