Thermoregulation in juvenile red kangaroos (Macropus rufus) after pouch exit: higher metabolism and evaporative water requirements.

The population dynamics of red kangaroos (Macropus rufus) in the Australian arid zone is tightly linked with environmental factors, which partly operate via the survival of juvenile animals. A crucial stage is the young-at-foot (YAF) stage when kangaroos permanently exit the pouch. We have examined the thermal biology of YAF red kangaroos during ages from permanent pouch exit until weaning. Ove...

This paper focuses on a speci c type of information frequently used by researchers in Genetics: links between genome objects. It emphasizes the fact that, at present, links are not su ciently characterized and describes our work to address this problem: the design of a prototype databank to store links between genome databases. Because this global repository is of concern for many people, we we...

Virgil: a database of rich links between GDB and GenBank

Database interconnection requires the development of links between related objects from different databases. We built a database of links, called Virgil, to manage and distribute rich (documented) links between GDB genes and GenBank human sequences. Virgil contains 18 667 unique links. In addition to a simple Web form for ad-hoc queries, we propose a generic Web interface and a prototype CORBA ...
