چکیده

Spinal anesthesia significantly results in shivering and hypothermia as unwanted effect. Shivering increases oxygen consumption which may be deleterious patients who have low cardiac pulmonary reserve. We conducted this study to evaluate the efficacy of Ketamine Granisetron for prevention under spinal anesthesia. In randomized prospective study, 90 Patients aged 18-60 years ASA physical status I & II undergoing various surgical procedures were included allocated alternately one 3 groups; Normal saline (Group P), 0.25mg/kg K) 40μg/kg G). Incidence shivering, effect on haemodynamics, nausea, vomiting, sedation recorded. The comparable terms demographic variables, baseline temperature, median level sensory blockade. was present 10 (33%), (10%), 1 (3%) respectively Group P, G, K. 8 (26%) experienced at Grade higher than Groups G K (P = 0.0003). None sedated P. seen cases group, most them grade 2 only (P<0.05). No hallucination any patients. Low dose ketamine are effective comparison placebo during is more granisetron.

Comparative study on the impact of low-dose ketamine with midazolam and with low-dose midazolam with ketamine to prevent shivering after spinal anesthesia

Introduction: Shivering is one of the complications of spinal anesthesia. There are various methods to control this shivering. In this research we opted to study the effects of two different combination doses of ketamine and midazolam on the prevention of shivering after spinal anesthesia. Material and methods: Methods:The study was a double-blind clinical trial performed on 120 patients who w...

Prophylactic Low-Dose Ketamine to Prevent Post Anesthetic Shivering in Orthopedic Surgery: A Randomized-Controlled Study.

OBJECTIVE Post anesthetic shivering is one of the most common anesthesia complications. We compared the efficacy of low-dose ketamine with normal saline in preventing post anesthetic shivering in orthopedic surgery. MATERIAL AND METHOD The present study was a prospective, randomized, double-blind, controlled clinical trial involving 183 ASA I-II patients, aged 18 to 65 years whom underwent or...

A comparative study on effect of low dose Ketamine versus Dexamethasone on intraoperative nausea and vomiting during cesarean section under spinal anesthesia

Aims and background: Intraoperative nausea and vomiting causes anxiety for the patient , gynecologist and anesthesiologist, and can increase the risk of visceral injury during surgery due to unintentional abdominal movements. The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of low-dose Ketamine and dexamethasone in controlling nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing cesarean section wi...

A Comparison of Intravenous Dexamethasone, Pethidine and Ketamine in the Prevention of Postoperative Shivering in Patients Undergoing General Anesthesia

Introduction and Purpouse: Postoperative shivering, which is unpleasant and annoying to the patient, occurs in patients with general anesthesia occurring in up to 65% of cases. Different mechanisms have been proposed for postoperative shivering. Chills after anesthesia can cause cardiovascular complications, bleeding and infections. this study, effects of dexamethasone, pethidine and ketamine h...
