Background: Iron deficiency is a common problem in patients with cyanotic congenital heart disease (CCHD), but it often underdiagnosed. Cyanotic iron will experience higher morbidity due to symptoms of hyper viscosity. The consequences anemia may manifest either infancy or later. tendency develop metabolic acidosis and hyper-cyanotic attacks exacerbated by relative anemia. This study was performed identify the prevalence children CCHD based on definitive tests like serum ferritin. Methods: We included 100 diseases between 3 months 18 years. Baseline characteristics were noted specific proforma. Data from blood collected analysed statistically find out deficiency, along that best predict presence deficiency. Results: Serum ferritin-based 46%. status haemoglobin, MCV values ferritin, strength agreement almost perfect. for PCV, MCH, RDW, peripheral smear substantially significant. MCHC moderate significance (Kappa value 0.41-0.60). Red cell distribution width (RDW) an independent predictor logistic regression analysis. Conclusions: RDW seems be good indicator predicting diseases.
