A Strain-Based Method to Estimate Longitudinal Force for Intelligent Tires by Using a Physics-Based Model

Tires are essential components of vehicles and the only vehicle in contact with road. The tire longitudinal force originating from between road can enhance traction braking contribute to directional stability vehicles. If be accurately estimated, safety improved. This study established a physics-based model combining brush flexible ring develop strain-based intelligent system for estimating force. developed dynamic was used strain characteristics under pure slip conditions. An algorithm through feature extraction data fitting strain. A finite-element simulate Comparing simulated estimated forces indicated that proposed predict tires thus provide useful information control systems.
