A Six-planet Resonance Chain in K2-138?

چکیده
Abstract The K2-138 system hosts six planets and presents an interesting case study due to its distinctive dynamical structure. Its five inner are near a chain of 3/2 two-body mean-motion resonances, while the outermost body (planet g) is significantly detached, having ratio n f / g ∼ 3.3 with closest neighbor. We show that orbit m actually consistent first-order three-planet resonance (3P-MMR) characterized by relation 2 e − 4 + 3 = 0 first time pure 3P-MMR has been found in multiplanet tied current Adequate values for masses allow one trace history from initial capture six-planet (with 3/1 resonance) up configuration tidal interactions over age star. increase offset semimajor axis, as well large value , can be explained slopes resonances plane. triplets slide outward these curves when innermost pair pulled apart effects, pantograph- like manner. into surprisingly robust given similar it possible same effect may also other compact planetary systems.

15 صفحه اول4Pg States of K2 by Optical–Optical Double Resonance Spectroscopy
Using a homemade ultrasensitive space charge limited ion detector, the K2 singlet gerade states (7–9Sg and 4Pg) were observed for the first time. The exotic potential of the double minimum 7Sg state was constructed using a hybrid approximation method. The molecular constants and the Rydberg–Klein–Rees (RKR) potential curve for the 9Sg state were obtained. The 8Sg and 4Pg states were partially c...
متن کاملRegulation of Flagellar Dynein by Phosphorylation of a 138-kD Inner Arm Dynein Intermediate Chain
One of the challenges in understanding ciliary and flagellar motility is determining the mechanisms that locally regulate dynein-driven microtubule sliding. Our recent studies demonstrated that microtubule sliding, in Chlamydomonas flagella, is regulated by phosphorylation. However, the regulatory proteins remain unknown. Here we identify the 138-kD intermediate chain of inner arm dynein I1 as ...

NASA’s Kepler Space Telescope was designed to determine the frequency of Earth-sized planets orbiting Sun-like stars, but these planets are on the very edge of the mission’s detection sensitivity. Accurately determining the occurrence rate of these planets will require automatically and accurately assessing the likelihood that individual candidates are indeed planets, even at low signal-to-nois...
