A single‐phase seven‐level buck‐boost common ground transformerless inverter for grid‐connected photovoltaic system

Abstract Transformerless inverters have recently gained attention in view of their economic benefits and compactness for photovoltaic (PV) systems. However, the limited voltage regulation common‐mode (CM) leakage current are major concerns conventional transformerless PV inverters. This paper presents a single‐phase seven‐level buck‐boost common ground inverter (SLB2CGTLI) to achieve wide range output voltages zero without any additional stages, respectively. The proposed converter utilizes switched capacitor (SC) cell input DC generates at terminals. A simple reconfiguration strategy is adopted maintain charge‐second balance across capacitors. Moreover, between AC grid neutral panel's negative terminal mitigates completely. theoretical steady state analysis both buck boost mode presented verified with simulation using MATLAB Simulink. performance analyzed validated experimental results by developing laboratory prototype. Further, dynamic response carried out OP4510 real‐time simulator grid‐connected application.
