A simplified version of adaptive super twisting—Application to the control of floating wind turbine

A novel kind of adaptive second order sliding mode control algorithm, based on super-twisting law (STW), is proposed and applied to a floating wind turbine (FWT). This new for which the controller gains are dynamically adjusted with respect uncertainties perturbations, has very reduced number tuning parameters versus previous versions STW, low-requirement computational requirement. particularly well-adapted FWT problems because achievement an accurate modeling such system hard task; furthermore, it strongly reduces effort STW. The algorithm implemented FAST nonlinear model in SIMULINK environment, performances compared standard gain scheduling PI (GSPI) original results show high rotor speed regulation reduction platform pitch motion.
