A Semi-Empirical Model for Predicting Frost Properties

چکیده

In this study, a quantitative method for classifying the frost geometry is first proposed to substantiate numerical model in predicting properties like density, thickness, and thermal conductivity. This can recognize crystal shape via linear programming of existing map morphology. By using method, conditions be taken into account obtain corresponding conductivity, density specific crystal. It found that developed predict more accurately than correlations. Specifically, identify by dimensionless temperature surface temperature. Moreover, adopting identification model, thickness also predicted satisfactorily. The calculation not only shows better predictive ability with conductivities, but gives good predictions especially accurate when lower 125 kg/m3. Yet, improved 24% compared most correlation available.

A Solution Model for Predicting Asphaltene Precipitation

Formation of asphaltene deposition during oil production, processing and synthesis is known as a fundamental problem of petroleum reservoir worldwide. Asphaltene is a petroleum fraction that can lead to increasing the operating costs in these industries. Variations in operational pressure, temperature and fluid composition are generally the significant cause of asphaltene precipitation. In ...

A Heuristic Model for Predicting Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy prediction is one of the major business classification problems. The main purpose of this study is to investigate Kohonen self-organizing feature map in term of performance accuracy in the area of bankruptcy prediction.  A sample of 108 firms listed in Tehran Stock Exchange is used for the study. Our results confirm that Kohonen network is a robust model for predicting bankruptcy in ...

A Semi-Empirical Model for Porous Media Heat Exchanger Design

1 Fellow, ASME Abstract A semi-empirical model for conduction/convection in a thin “fin-like” porous wall of arbitrary composition and thickness is developed. The model assumes one-dimensional conduction in the porous matrix and one-dimensional flow of the coolant through the wall. Closed form solutions are obtained for a uniform composition and thickness porous wall having an insulated tip. An...

Development of a semi-empirical model for nucleation

It has been observed during fatigue cracking of AA 7075-T651 that a small percentage of Al7Cu2Fe particles crack during manufacturing or very early in their life. Some of the cracked particles eventually nucleate cracks into the surrounding microstructure, and among these the number of cycles required for nucleation varies widely. It is important to comprehend the mechanics underpinning the obs...

A Semi-empirical Model to Predict the Attached Axisymmetric Shock Shape

In this work, a simple semi-empirical model is proposed, based on Response Surface Model, RSM, to determine the shape of an attached oblique shock wave emanating from a pointed axisymmetric nose at zero angle of attack. Extensive supersonic visualization images have been compiled from various nose shapes at different Mach numbers, along with some others performed by the author for the present p...
