چکیده

The calculation of high-frequency wave radiation in exterior domains by finite element methods can lead to large computations. In this paper, it is shown that the solution domain be decomposed as a series expansion functions with an analytical part made from product harmonic waves and polynomials scaled variable numerical approximation vector. or scattering problem found solving sparse linear system which set dynamic stiffness matrices several layers around radiating body. These are classical obtained any software. Moreover, accurate results small number terms expansion. Several examples given estimate efficiency proposed method.

Axisymmetric Scaled Boundary Finite Element Formulation for Wave Propagation in Unbounded Layered Media

Wave propagation in unbounded layered media with a new formulation of Axisymmetric Scaled Boundary Finite Element Method (AXI-SBFEM) is derived. Dividing the general three-dimensional unbounded domain into a number of independent two-dimensional ones, the problem could be solved by a significant reduction in required storage and computational time. The equations of the corresponding Axisymmetri...

A Multiscale Finite Element Method for Computing Wave Propagation and Scattering in Heterogeneous Media

The objective of this study is to develop a multiscale/multiresolution method for computing wave propagation and scattering in strongly heterogeneous media. The important feature of this method is that does not require resolving the small scale details, yet it can capture their effect on the large scales. The central idea is to incorporate the small scale information into the finite element bas...

Solution of Wave Equations Near Seawalls by Finite Element Method

A 2D finite element model for the solution of wave equations is developed. The fluid is considered as incompressible and irrotational. This is a difficult mathematical problem to solve numerically as well as analytically because the condition of the dynamic boundary (Bernoulli’s equation) on the free surface is not fixed and varies with time. The finite element technique is applied to solve non...

Wave Motion and Stop-Bands in Pipes with Helical Characteristics Using Wave Finite Element Analysis

Pipes are widely used in many industrial and mechanical applications and devices. Although there are many different constructions according to the specific application and device, these can show helical pattern, such as spiral pipes, wire-reinforced pipes/shells, spring-suspension, and so on. Theoretical modelling of wave propagation provides a prediction about the dynamic behavior, and it is f...

Plane wave interpolation in direct collocation boundary element method for radiation and wave scattering: numerical aspects and applications

The classical boundary element formulation for the Helmholtz equation is rehearsed, and its limitations with respect to the number of variables needed to model a wavelength are explained. A new type of interpolation for the potential is then described in which the usual boundary element shape functions are modified by the inclusion of a set of plane waves, propagating in a range of directions. ...
