چکیده
In recent years, orally disintegrating films (ODFs) have been studied as alternative ways for drug administration. They can easily be applied into the mouth and quickly disintegrate, releasing with no need of water ingestion enabling absorption through oral mucosa. The ODFs matrices are typically composed hydrophilic polymers, in which natural polymers highlighted since they extracted from sources, non-toxic, biocompatible, biodegradable, favorable properties this application. Besides that, such polysaccharides proteins either alone or blended other synthetic, semi-synthetic, to achieve better mechanical mucoadhesive fast disintegration. review, we analyzed developed using blends involving maltodextrin, pullulan, starch, gelatin, collagen, alginate, chitosan, pectin, others, overview publications discuss how influence properties.

Formulation and Evaluation of Orally Disintegrating Films of Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride
For the past one decade, there has been an enhanced demand for more patient-friendly and compliant dosage forms. As a result, the demand for developing new technologies has been increasing annually. Orally disintegrating films (ODF) have carved a niche amongst the oral drug delivery systems due to their high patient compliance[1-3]. United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) defined the...
متن کاملPolymers in Fast Disintegrating Tablets – a Review
An oral solid dosage form should ideally disperse into the primary particles from which it was prepared. Tablets and capsules which need rapid disintegration, the inclusion of the right disintegrant is a prerequisite for optimal bioavailability. Superdisintegrants are used to improve the efficacy of solid dosage forms. This is achieved by decreasing the disintegration time which in turn enhance...
متن کاملEvaluation of coprocessed disintegrants produced from tapioca starch and mannitol in orally disintegrating paracetamol tablet.
The study evaluated two novel coprocessed excipients (with two methods) as disintegrants in an orally disintegrating paracetamol tablet formulation. The tablets produced were assessed for mechanical properties with the use of friability and tensile strength while the release properties were assessed with wetting time, water absorption ratio, disintegration time and dissolution profile. The resu...
متن کاملThe Study on Microbial Polymers: Pullulan and PHB
Microbial cells are producers of natural polymers present in plant cells. Production of pullulan (an extracellular microbial polysaccharide) by Aureobasidium pullularia pullulans (P. pullulans) was studied under fermentation conditions, and kinetic parameters were determined. Pullulan formation obeyed a growth and non-growth associated term. PHB (polyhydroxybutyrates) an intracellular biopo...
متن کاملThe technologies used for developing orally disintegrating tablets: a review.
Orally disintegrating tablets (ODTs), also known as fast melts, quick melts, fast disintegrating and orodispersible systems, have the unique property of disintegrating in the mouth in seconds without chewing and the need of water and are thus assumed to improve patient compliance. Conventional methods like direct compression, wet granulation, moulding, spray-drying, freeze-drying and sublimatio...
