A Review on Cultural Customs of Marriage Traditions Among Banjar Ethnic Women in Banjarmasin Indonesia

This study reveals the tradition of Banjar inland tribes in their marriage rituals. For a ethnic woman, who adheres to her cultural customs, for them will only take place when it is arranged by family. Arranged means determined family with prospective husband chosen on certain factors. Family dominant factor that determines future woman especially aspect marriage. The research methodology used this literature review secrets behind conventional practices using phenomenological approach. Firstly, found group, traditionally marriages are compulsory. Second, there culture giving money nominal amount bride’s before wedding takes place. Third, home must be filled donations such as furniture or daily household necessities. If things stated cannot met, then look another daughter. Such practice and belief ancestors tribe, an ancient dynamic animism.Keywords: Rituals; marriages; customs; Banjar; Indonesia.
