چکیده

Natural gas is considered a helpful transition fuel in order to reduce the greenhouse emissions of other conventional power plants burning coal or liquid fossil fuels. Gas Hydrates (NGHs) constitute largest reservoir natural world. Methane contained within crystalline structure can be replaced by carbon dioxide enhance recovery from hydrates. This technical review presents techno-economic analysis full pathway, which begins with capture CO2 and process industries ends its transportation geological sequestration site consisting clathrate Since extracted methane still rich CO2, on-site separation required. Focus thus placed on membrane-based technologies widely used for purification removal raw exhaust gas. Nevertheless, processes (i.e., oxy-fuel combustion, pre-combustion post-combustion) are briefly discussed their costs compared membrane technology. large-scale Carbon Capture Storage (CCS) facility requires storage infrastructure, technical, cost safety assessment over long distances carried out. Finally, this paper provides an overview solutions developed around world, principally studying NGH formation sinks.

A Review on Research on Replacement of CH4 in Natural Gas Hydrates by Use of CO2

This paper introduces the research advances on replacement of CH4 in Natural Gas Hydrates (NGHs) by use of CO2 and discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the method on the natural gas production from such hydrates. Firstly, the feasibility of replacement is proven from the points of view of kinetics and thermodynamics, and confirmed by experiments. Then, the latest progress in CH4 replac...

Synergetic effect of carbon nanopore size and surface oxidation on CO2 capture from CO2/CH4 mixtures.

We have studied the synergetic effect of confinement (carbon nanopore size) and surface chemistry (the number of carbonyl groups) on CO2 capture from its mixtures with CH4 at typical operating conditions for industrial adsorptive separation (298 K and compressed CO2-CH4 mixtures). Although both confinement and surface oxidation have an impact on the efficiency of CO2/CH4 adsorptive separation a...

Functionalized Polymeric Membranes for CO2 Capture

Reducing CO2 emission and lowering the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has quickly become one of the most urgent environmental issues. While a variety of technologies and methods have been developed, the separation of CO2 from gas streams is still a critical issue. Apart from establishing new techniques, the exploration of membrane materials with high separation performance ...

A Review on Technologies for Reducing CO2 Emission from Coal Fired Power Plants

In recent years, global warming has been a major issue due to continuous growth of greenhouse gas emissions from different sources. It has been estimated that the global average temperature will rise between 1.4 –5.8 °C by the year 2100 (Williams, 2002). The contributors to greenhouse effects are carbon dioxide (CO2), chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), methane (CH4), and nitrous oxide (N2O). The contr...
