A REVIEW OF SOLIDIFICATION/STABILIZATION OF HEAVY METAL CONTAMINATED SOIL

نویسندگان

چکیده

Heavy metal contamination has occurred as a result of industrial civilization. Zinc, copper, chromium, and lead are the most prevalent heavy pollutants. arisen significant environmental issue on global scale. Human health is at risk when soils contaminated. well have poor engineering qualities. Solidification/Stabilization critical remediation strategy for polluted which both efficient cost-effective. The solidification/stabilization approach been frequently used to rehabilitate metal-contaminated areas. First, use gypsum strengthen leach was reviewed. Also, cement/fly ash-solidified/stabilized better On other hand, output phosphogypsum surpasses 300 million tons, raising disposal problems every year. efficiency phosphogypsum-based stabilization/solidification technique investigated, methods employed biochar chemical agents such citric acid FeCl3. This review examines various options innovative soil amendments.

Removal of Heavy Metal from Contaminated Soil with Chelating Agents

Removal of copper and nickel by the addition of the biodegradable chelating agent, chitosan and ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA), was investigated, alongside the reaction of a reference compound sodium citrate for comparison. The artificial-contaminated soils were used in this study. The experiments showed that the extraction ability for copper and nickel from the contaminated soil decre...

Remediation of soil contaminated with the heavy metal (Cd2+).

Soil contamination by heavy metals is increasing. The biosorption process for removal of the heavy metal Cd(2+) from contaminated soil is chosen for this study due to its economy, commercial applications, and because it acts without destroying soil structure. The study is divided into four parts (1) soil leaching: the relationships between the soil leaching effect and agitation rates, solvent c...

Phytoremediation of heavy metal-contaminated land by trees--a review.

This paper reviews the potential for using trees for the phytoremediation of heavy metal-contaminated land. It considers the following aspects: metal tolerance in trees, heavy metal uptake by trees grown on contaminated substrates, heavy metal compartmentalisation within trees, phytoremediation using trees and the phytoremediation potential of willow (Salix spp.).

Reducing Agents Enhanced Electrokinetic Soil Remediation (EKSR) for Heavy Metal Contaminated Soil

Reducing agents-Enhanced electrokinetic Soil Remediation (EKSR) was performed for the removal of chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co) and nickel (Ni) from contaminated soil. The reducing agents oxalic acid and ascorbic acid were investigated under constant voltage gradient (2.0 V/cm), current changes, pH, redox potential, concentration changes and removal performance of Heavy Metals (HMs). The result...

A Numerical Model of the Soil Flushing Remediation in Heavy Metal Contaminated Soil

This paper presents a 1D numerical model developed to simulate the EDTA chelation process of metal (lead) applied to a soil flushing remediation action. The model considers the non–stationary conditions, typical of unsaturated soil. Flow and transport equations are solved simultaneously. Metal mobilization is evaluated considering both the chemical aspects of chelating agents and the characteri...
